Alex Smith, 49ers close to deal
Alex Smith and the San Francisco 49ers worked Tuesday night to a three-year contract, a person with knowledge of the negotiations, he said.
The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because it hadn’t an announcement, said final details still being worked out Tuesday night and it would be complete as soon as Wednesday.
