Along with Dolores Huerta Chavez co-founded the national farm workers Association, which later became the United Farm workers (UFW). The Union was founded in 1962 and eventually grew more than 50,000 members, a huge achievement for a Latino employee in the 1960s. The Union forced the Government in the eye of Latino workers in agriculture as a political force.
