Frank Lautenberg, New Jersey Senator in His 5th Term, Dies at 89
Frank r. Lautenberg, who fought on alcohol and tobacco industry and the five term U.S. senator promoted as Amtrak from New Jersey, died on Monday in Manhattan. He was 89. The cause was complications of viral pneumonia, his Office said. In 2010, he announced that he had cancer of the stomach. Although he and his doctors expect a full recovery, Senator Lautenberg, a Democrat, decided not to seek re-election next year.
