Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi Assassinated
On October 31, 1984, that was close to his hometown of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two guards India Sikhs seeking revenge. The men were angry with the authorization of Gandhi of a military attack on a respected Sikh Temple of Amritsar five months earlier.
